Hear that snap? That’s the sound of your creativity going mobile. Our palm-sized wonder holds:
✦ Thumb-sized color-capsules that awaken with one lick of a brush
✦ Brushes that dance from squirrel-hair whispers to synthetic precision
✦ A secret compartment for stolen moments – bus stops, coffee queues, insomnia’s 3 AM glow
✦ The 90-Second Sanctuary: Waiting for the train? Unfold the case. Wet the brush. Watch Cerulean Blue bleed across paper – suddenly, that grumpy commuter becomes your muse.
✦ Mistakes? Happy Accidents: That coffee splash on your sketch? Blend it into storm clouds. Crooked window lines? Call it "whimsical architecture". Here, blooms forgive wobbles.
✦ Pro Tools, Zero Pretense: Student sketching anatomy diagrams? Artist capturing streetlight halos? Our pans perform for all – no pedigree required.
This is such a great set for beginners, which is what I am! It comes with a wide variety of colors and all the supplies you need (except paper). I love that it includes a labeled swatch paper, where the labeled boxes match the organization of the paints in the container. The paints seem to blend well and have consistent color. There's a pretty wide variety of brushes, which surprised me! This isn't a tiny paint set but is small enough to be portable and I like that everything fits in the tin (though it does require a little finagling). The plastic side that has the wells in it can be removed for cleaning, though since it's relatively flimsy, I'm not sure how durable it is.Overall, I think this set is a fantastic starter set for the current price of around $20 - it's a great value.
I really like the variety of color and amount of brushes for the price. I found the paints easy to spread evenly using wet on wet technics. It's seems like a great set for beginners and casual use. The only downsides I could see were the paints aren't in half pans so they won't be easy to replace with a different color and the colors I mixed had unappealing results. I like that it includes a travel brush but I wouldn't bring this set out with me due to the size. I normally travel with dot cards or a pocket sized palette of about 8 colors that mix together instead.
Ok 4.5/5 because I really really love the colors it comes with. They dissolve super easy and the brush 5 holds water very well for being a cheap brush is very nice. I had fun using it. The frustration was trying to put that brush back in place. Wow super hard. Makes not want to get it back out.I also used the detail brush 000. It worked really well, light and right size. Very easy to use.
This set of 50 watercolor paints is a great pick for beginners. It has a solid selection of colors that gives you plenty to experiment with. The built-in palette is super handy. It also includes a couple of fine detail brushes, which are great for small areas and finishing touches. Everything comes neatly packed in a sturdy tin travel case. There’s even a swatch card included so you can see how each color looks on paper. The only downside is the greens selection. It could use more variety. As it is, you might find yourself mixing more than you'd like. That said, this set makes a great gift for a new or young painter. It’s affordable, practical, and inspiring right out of the box. A solid value overall.
I was expecting some cheap set of watercolors... to be honest, I've never owned a nice one. It's always been what came with the book, or what was on sale in the dollar bin. I was never good at it, but my daughter has taken a real interest in the hobby. She's probably done 10-15 small canvases and they continue to get better, so I figured why not. But I opened this set up and was blown away... Professional packaging? Metal holder with compartments? Extra brushes? I didn't even know there was more than one water color brush in existence!Seriously, delightful set and great for travel or a day outside. You can squeeze one of the extra brushes into the case diagonally, but it would be nice if it could hold them all. But really a minor nit, highly recommend for a quality portable set. The colors are also nice and vibrant, my photo doesn't do it justice.
